This promises to be a wonderful evening celebrating the achievements of all our music students.

  • We will be awarding prizes to students for musical achievement and commitment during the past year
  • Friends of Enfield Grammar (FEGS) will be running a licensed bar plus soft drinks and snacks
  • There will be a raffle with excellent prizes to be won

Our theme will be “Summertime” and the hall will be decorated with a sunflower theme. Please contribute to this summery, sunny mood by wearing something yellow if you can!

This concert will be the final one for Mr Ness and Mrs Penfold; Mrs Penfold is stepping down after 16+ years of service to our EGS music department Mr Ness is moving on in his career.

Please join us for this event to celebrate our music department (staff and students) and make it one for Mr Ness & Mrs Penfold to remember!!.

Tickets:

£5 per adult

£4 for children/concessions

£2 for non-performing EGS students (attending with a ticket holding adult).

EGS Athletes Competing in the ESAA London North Regional Finals!

Congratulations to all the boys in Y8, 9 & 10 who took part in the ESAA Track and Field Cup at Lee Valley before half term and have qualified for the London North Regional Finals!!
 
The Junior Team (Y7&8) came second overall on the day and the Inter-team (9&10) came 5th.
 
There were some outstanding performances but particular mentions must go to:
Malakai with 10.35m in the shot
Elvis with 5.26m in the long jump and 12.2s in the 100m
Brando with 27.6 s in the 200m
Eben with 24.5s in the 200m
Luca with 5.92m in the long jump
 
Well done to you all and Good Luck for next Monday in the regional finals! Go EGS! 🎽🏃‍♂️👟

Football Coaching Sessions

Special coaching sessions with the Year 7 & 8 football squads were held recently, all run by Michael Duberry and Kevin Lisbie (striker, ex professional for Charlton Athletic played in the premier league).
 
The sessions went really well; the boys were pushed hard and they learned a lot from the immense experience of both Michael and Kevin.
 
What a great opportunity and privilege for our boys to be coached by such professionals!

Lower school Jubilee Poster!

As the saying goes…’.better late than never’…. to post about this lovely Jubilee poster that has been on display in the Lower School reception area for the past 2 weeks.
It was a collaborative colouring project completed by Year 7s in their form time to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Below, proudly presenting the poster are Harrison and Mohamed.

EGS Half-Term Camp for Year 5s

Teachers at EGS enjoyed welcoming Year 5 pupils for the Half-Term Camp which ran for 2 days during the break.

The camp involved a wide range of activities designed to educate, challenge and entertain primary school pupils but it most importantly gave them  a real insight and feel into what life at EGS really is…. #community

EGS Voices Go To The Caribbean!

Our EGS Choir had a very successful and happy performance at the Caribbean Luncheon Club in Edmonton on Friday, 20th May.  Having performed there in December 2021, we were very happy to be invited to return for what was another very positive experience for all concerned.

The Choir performed exceptionally well and we received a number of comments about how much they had improved between the two performances. Members of the audience and staff working at the club danced along with some of the numbers and the choir were asked to perform an encore!

A very special thanks to Miss Paula Thompson who runs the choir and whose enthusiasm and professionalism inspire our small choir to produce such a wonderful sound.

We are very proud of them.

The organiser, Ms Oveta McInnes said “I don’t think the boys really appreciate just how much joy they bring to the elders. This is a real example of an intergenerational activity and the benefits are two-way.”

Dulcie from the audience said “Just to let you know the Enfield Grammar School Choir were Wonderful! The chosen songs were mixed in style, which balanced a most professional delivery.”
