We welcome applications from current EGS students and students who are completing their GCSEs elsewhere.

We will review all the applications we receive throughout the spring and summer terms; students will then be invited for an interview with a senior member of staff. For current Enfield Grammar School students this will take place in March/April. For students applying from other schools, once applications have been processed, applicants will be invited to interview. It would be useful if students had access to their mock exam results at this time. Letters offering conditional places will be sent out towards the end of the Spring term and into the summer term.
Please note – the notification will be sent to the student’s email address supplied on the application form.
Our curriculum is broad and our courses are offered at both Level 2 and Level 3. We offer A Levels, vocational and Technical qualifications and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). However, we do not believe that being at school only involves gaining further qualifications. We believe a Sixth Form experience should include depth as well as breadth. Our Sixth Form students are expected to contribute to the School and wider community (eg by leading younger students in organising House events or by working with our linked primary schools), thus developing their skills by taking a leading role in the life of the School.
We have a two-year structure of study, sometimes known as linear, with examinations taken at the end of the second year. AS examinations will not usually be taken and teaching schedules will not prepare students with AS examinations in mind.
We are a full-time only Sixth Form and an applicant is expected to have achieved the subject requirements in their GCSEs in order to join the course(s) they wish to study.
The expectation is that students will take three principle subjects for two years (BTEC Business has the option to be a double subject, which is equivalent to two A Levels). Level 2 students will have the opportunity to progress onto L3 courses should they meet the entry requirements following successful completion of L2 study.

Discussions with Senior Staff are held on GCSE Results Day with students and their parents/carers in order to finalise subject offers.
