The role of the governing body is to provide strategic leadership to the School, ensuring accountability for its educational and financial performance.Β Β The governing body has three core functions:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and it’s students
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure money is well spent
Governors (also known as Trustees in an Academy setting), alongside the Senior Leadership Team, set the aims and objectives for the School.Β Through its committees, the governing body then set the policies and targets for achieving those aims and objectives.Β
