Here are the results from last week, as you can see it was a great week for EGS!
And here are our fixtures for this week – wishing all the teams the best of luck, and especially to the 2 teams in the Middlesex Cup Final!
KS3: With one of the parents very kindly supplying sound and lights, the boys upped their game and gave us a rollicking night of rock, pop and calypso. Some outstanding performances from the young men left the audience delighted and eager for Battle of the Bands!
Enfield Grammar Year 12 students enjoyed their workshops on Smart Revision, Finance and had the opportunity to speak to Cambridge Uni students who gave a formative insight to life at Newnham College.
Every trip experience, event, guest speaker, careers advice etc. helps our students to understand the different career and educational pathways open to them and enables them to make better informed decisions; all our staff are here to support and guide them through their time at EGS.
*** We invite you to join us for an AGM/Meet & Greet on Wednesday 6th March 2024 from 7pm to 8.30pm in Room 8, Upper School. Drinks and nibbles will be provided.***
This will be an opportunity to meet each other and form a new school PTA committee of volunteers willing to continue organising valuable fundraising events.
We’d like to thank those of you who have come on board this academic year to help serve refreshments and snacks at the music concerts and hope you enjoyed it.
During the meeting we would like to elect a new committee consisting of: Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and maybe even some ‘Vice’ positions for each of those, as well as compiling a list of volunteers to support the committee.
This will be the relaunch of FEGS, and as such, open to all ideas of when the meetings should be, where they are held and what events could be organised.
Those of you who have already been part of a school PTA will know how rewarding it can be, however no experience is required, just an interest in helping the school with your passion and ideas!
If you are interested to help form and shape the new FEGS and/or join the team of supporters, then please come along to the meeting.
It would be ideal if we could have an idea of numbers attending so please either click and complete this link Meeting Attendance Form or email [email protected] to advise.
Everyone is welcome!
We look forward to meeting you.
Well done to all who played and congratulations to the Y10 and Y11 EGS football teams who are now through to the Middlesex Cup Final!!
We are so excited to announce that Professor David Warburton OBE, DSc, MD, FRCP, FRCS, FRCPCH, FAAAS will be joining our Year 11 STEM event on Tuesday by a remote link from the University of Southern California.
What makes this so special is that Professor Warburton is one of our alumni. He studied at EGS from 1960 to 1967 and went on to his further studies at St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School. David Warburton is best known for his contributions to basic and applied maternal and child health as well as environmental science and public health impacts across the lifespan and has devoted much time and effort to global women’s and children’s health.

David is very keen to support and mentor future medical students and is very active on organising STEM related trips, and we are honoured that he is keen to forge links with his old school.
If you are a year 11 student/parent who has been invited to this STEM Information evening, please be sure not to miss it!
The evening presents a valuable opportunity for you to gain insight into STEM A-Levels, introduce you the plans for the Enfield Grammar School Sixth Form and most importantly, develop a deeper understanding of the revision resources and support systems we have in place for all Year 11 students leading to their GCSE examinations in the summer. We will share strategies for supporting your son with his revision efforts and provide details on the structure and opportunities your son will receive as a member of the sixth form studying
Science and/or Maths at Enfield Grammar School.Throughout the event, you will hear from the Subject Leaders for Maths and Science who will provide specific insights into their respective subject’s curriculum, assessments, revision materials, and available interventions.
Additionally, members of the Sixth Form Team will be present to address any questions you may have regarding Post-16 education. We also hope to welcome some former students who have pursued STEM-related courses at university, providing valuable perspectives and advice.
Put the date in your diaries, buy your tickets, and get ready for our eagerly awaited yearly concert where our school bands battle it out to gain the top place. This, combined with other awards presented throughout the night and an opening performance from our very own staff band, all makes for a very fun musical evening.
Bring some cash to spend at the FEGS run bar where you can buy drinks and snacks (all profits from the bar are donated back tot he school to support various projects and items for the students).
