What a night! We ended last term with a musical extravaganza….
Our Latin Night was a huge success! Super proud of all the performers. Seeing them progress more and more at each concert is a real treat. Shout out to the drumming club who made their debut and absolutely smashed it! Great atmosphere – thank you to all who came.
Now on to rehearse for our final concert of the year……. The Music Soiree: Back to the 70s…… on 14 July.
Ashes57 is an accomplished photographer, illustrator and designer; here is a collage from some of our Year 7 interpretations of her style incorporating, cityscapes, landscapes, thinking of form and perspective, detail and spots of colour……it’s visually very striking!
A distinctive visual style links her illustration, painting and print work – images which are dense and detailed with fine and intricate lines. Her complex cityscapes, rendered in a largely monochromatic palette with an occasional burst of colour, are playgrounds for a revolving cast of DJs, musicians and revellers.

Qualifying Expedition …….Done!!!
We are delighted to say that all the boys passed this section of the award over the weekend with flying colours – it was wonderful to see all the skills they had learnt put to the test, their resilience and camaraderie; teamwork and empathy.
A huge congratulations to them all!
Only the finishing up of a few activity sections and we will be in the position to award some Bronze certificates and badges very soon…. :-))
Now, who’s signing up to do their Silver Award?!
Year 10 pupils recently had an ‘out of this world’ experience when they travelled to the National Space Centre in Leicester!
In this immersive visit they wandered through galleries and exhibitions, seeing real life rockets and an actual piece of the Moon!
Whilst there, our students took part in an interactive workshop using maths, computing and problem solving skills to program the LEGO NXT rovers to complete challenges on Martian terrain mats.
They also attended a very impressive presenter-led show in the full dome, 360 degree St. Patrick Moore Planetarium, based on space and how astronauts are adapted to completing missions in such extreme conditions.

Here are the upcoming fixtures…..
