Big thanks to our own Stanley Colson for photos and videos.
KS4: Our KS4 Concert last week was a smash! Soloists and ensembles from Year 10 and Year 11s as they prepare for their final GCSE performances. Well done to all those involved! Bring on Battle of the Bands on 27th March!

Jack Petchey’s ‘Speak-Out’ Challenge Hosted at EGS

9th February 2024Mrs S Field
EGS proudly hosted the Regional Finals of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge last night.
The event was expertly chaired by our own Ethan Bousula (last year’s winner of the competition), with a rousing welcome and introduction delivered by Headteacher, Mr. C. Lamb.
The highlights of the night were the performances of our speakers, who were all finalists from various schools in the Enfield Borough. Fifteen schools, including Enfield Grammar School, participated, with all speakers demonstrating such confidence, passion, and the potential to effect positive change in the not-so-distant future.
Two bold speakers took the stage to represent EGS;
Oheneba (Kwadwo) Osei highlighted the hidden blights of football in a speech titled ‘The Football Underworld.’
Dylan Da Silva-Simpson moved the audience and changed perspectives about people living with autism in his speech titled ‘Wake Up!’
Both boys represented the school phenomenally and, no doubt, will be agents of positive change in the world.
Two student musicians from our school (Kleidi Perri and Micah Olowu) entertained the audience with amazing solo violin and saxophone performances – supported by our talented music department.
Overall, the night was a worthwhile investment in our youths, and the presence of MP Feryal Clark, Mayor of Enfield Cllr Suna Hurman, and a hall full of parents, teachers, students from all the schools involved was testament to this.
Congratulations to ALL the students who took part, speaking about their passions and thoughts, and especially to the winners whom we wish ‘Good Luck’ to for the next stage!
Regional Champion: Ivan Twumasi, St. Ignatius College
Runner-Up: Kiara Lee Minto, Kingsmead School
Third: Karen Yiadom, Oasis Academy Hadley

  • music dept who guided and supported the musical performances for the evening
  • catering staff who served refreshments and nibbles

A Joyous Christmas Concert!

19th December 2023Mrs S Field
Friday night saw another sensational Christmas concert from the EGS boys. Carols were sung, bells were rung and festive feelings were spread throughout the hall.
The new Year 7  band made their debut as well as the Orchestra and the Steel pans also making their maiden appearance, showing a more diverse and exciting sound from the Music department.
A great night of Yuletide tunes was topped with HSBC promising to match our raffle money… a lovely Christmas present for us 🙂
Altogether, a fun and festive way to end the term!

EGS Goes Busking!

18th December 2023Mrs S Field
Last Thursday, a group of our students went busking in Enfield Town. It was a fantastic afternoon and a great experience for the boys to play music to the general public from the market bandstand. They spread some Christmas cheer and raised over £120 for the North London Hospice. Thank you to all who popped by and donated. 🙏

⚽ 5 Games. 5 Finals. 5 Wins. 5 Borough Cups!🏆
🔥 EGS on fire!

Our Y10 football team made it four Borough Cup wins for the school last week with an incredible come‑from‑behind 4–1 victory!
And they didn’t have long to wait for company…
Yesterday, our Y7s delivered a brilliant performance of their own, winning their cup final 4–2!

That means 5 out of 5 Borough Cups this year — a clean sweep!

Huge congratulations to all the boys who represented the school so brilliantly, and a massive thank‑you to our Sports Department for their hard work and support – definitely a reflection of our school motto: As Much As I Can’!
