Today, wherever we are in school, we shall be stopping at 11am for the two minutes silence.
This morning, both upper and lower school, have had Assemblies where the boys watched this very moving video; ‘End of the War – The Final Minutes of WWi’ : https://youtu.be/U10ON2aau3g
The 2 minute silence has been a tradition since 1945 to remember all those killed and injured during the 2 world wars and, indeed, all wars. As we all take time to remember, we will be reflecting, in particular, on our past students and staff, young and old, who never came home and who are memorialised in our Upper School.

Dr Lovell is one of our more recent members to be elected onto the Governing Body, joining us in January 2022 and has been appointed to the Standards & Achievements Committee and the Admissions Committee.
Dr Lovell says “I have two sons at Enfield Grammar. I originally trained as a scientist, and now have over 20 years’ experience as a civil servant working in Government. I have lived in Enfield for over 15 years, and was a primary school governor before joining the EGS Governing Body. I am fully committed to supporting the school to deliver the breadth and depth of education of the highest quality that all children and young people have a right to receive.”
In addition to sitting on the two sub-committees, Dr Lovell is also our Link Governor for the Music Department and is focused on supporting and strengthening this department, working alongside the teachers and SLT to enhance the musical provision offered to our students.
