The KS4 concert last week was a great success, with the year 11 students performing their solo pieces and the year 10’s forming a band to rock the evening out.

EGS Employability Day Event delivered by The Reach Society – Coming Soon!

After National Careers week, and ahead of Employability Day, we are holding our own event at the end of March. This year we will have some amazing high profile business people coming to speak to our boys, coordinated by the Reach Society. 

The day will run from 10am through to 3pm and will be for those in Years 10 to 13.

There will be a variety of local businesses for our students to talk to, including Metro Bank, Santander, and Enfield Council, as well as the following special guests (we will bring you their full ‘bios’ leading up to the event);

  • Ritchie A. C. Neil  Senior Account Executive at Salesforce – one of our ‘Panel of Experts’
  • Krystal Alliance a team working with committed organisations who really want to encourage, support and inspire greater equity in their workplace. They will be facilitating 2 themed workshops (Employability Skills, Young Role Models)
  • Michael Fuller is a UK-based entertainment New York Attorney-at-Law and music business consultant
  • Nathaniel Peat is a Multi-Award-Winning Entrepreneur, International Speaker (inc. TEDx), Business Coach, Engineer, Pilot, and man of many talents & achievements

Introducing our new ‘Energy Reps’!

The student council has formed a new initiative to save the school money!

Boys in year 9, who are wearing a ‘bolt badge’ are our first Energy Reps: James, Kamren, Eren, Hetanshu, Yasin, Parham, Elvis, Theo, Udhayvir, Jeremy, Jude, Oscar, Oghenemaro, Yaw.
Their duties include:
  • Checking the lights are off at the end of the lesson, if the room is not used next
  • Turning off computers and screen, if not used in the next lesson, lunch or period 5
  •  In lessons only having half the lights on in the room if the teacher does not think this will disturb the learning
  • Checking classroom lights are off at the start of lunch
Let’s see how we can impact our energy usage…..

On National School Governors Awareness Day today, Enfield Grammar School would like to thank all of their volunteer governors for their dedication to helping the school on a strategic level. Our governors are passionate about helping us to keep up and improve all aspects of running a school for the benefit of educating our students. There is a lot going on behind the scenes that this group of committed parents and those from the local community work closely with the School Senior Leadership Team to support the school, finding it both a valuable and rewarding role.
Several of our governors were available online during the recent parent evenings and were delighted to be able to meet and speak to many of our current parents and students.

Enfield Borough Basketball Champions: EGS Seniors!!

In the wise words of Mr Lamb; ‘BOOM!’

Yes, our boys have done it again!

Yesterday, the EGS Seniors basketball team played their final league fixture.

This was a highly contested, end to end match with St Ignatius.

Although we lost the game 43-45, we were still top of the league, with St IGS requiring a points difference of 34 points in their favour to take the title.

We are delighted to announce that Enfield Grammar School have retained their title for the 2nd year running and are ENFIELD BOROUGH BASKETBALL CHMAPIONS 2022/23! 👏👏👏

Congratulations to the boys in the team for another fantastic season and thank you to Mr Smith (aka basketball coach) for all his time, support and coaching. 🏀
