Get your tickets and join us for our highly anticipated annual concert, where our incredible school bands go head-to-head for the top spot! 🏆🎶

With awards presented throughout the evening and a special opening performance from our very own staff band, it promises to be a fantastic night of live music and celebration.

There will be a FEGS-run bar, serving drinks and snacks throughout the night; all profits go straight back to the school, supporting projects and resources for our students.

It’s set to be a brilliant evening – we can’t wait to see you there! 🎵✨

Health and Therapies Event for Parent/Carers

Our Voice Presents: Get to Know Health and Therapies:  Event for parent carers, Monday 16th March

We are delighted to invite you to our next event for parent-carers of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities on Monday, 16th March. 

This is part of our series of events for parent-carers, which offer an exceptional opportunity to talk directly with the Heads of Services and other key professionals supporting the families of children with additional needs.  In this event, we will focus on Health and Therapies.

We will be joined by the Designated Clinical Officer and senior representatives of services including CAMHS, Occupational Therapy, Physio, Speech and Language, Immunisation and Neurodiversity.

Our event will be from 10 am to 1 pm (registration from 9.30 am) at the Ponders End Family Hub on Monday, 16th March. 

It will include: 

  • A Q&A Panel session
  • Speech and Language workshop
  • ‘Marketplace’ with representatives of services including Vaccinations, Dietetics, Universal Health Services and Continence
  • An opportunity to book a 1:1 appointment with CAMHS, Speech and Language, OT or the Neurodiversity Team

A visit to CERN isn’t just a trip — it’s Physics brought to life 🚀

Our sixth form STEM students are off to explore the home of the Large Hadron Collider, seeing first-hand how the ideas they study in class connect to real-world discovery.

From Particles & Radiation to Electricity, Fields and Circular Motion, students hope to see:

🔬 How the Standard Model is tested through high-energy collisions
⚛️ How the Higgs boson was discovered
🧲 Superconducting magnets applying F = Bqv in real accelerators
📊 The importance of statistical analysis and the famous 5-sigma standard of proof

What can feel abstract in a classroom becomes tangible inside one of the world’s leading scientific research centres.

Experiences like this deepen understanding, strengthen exam performance, and raise aspirations for careers in physics, engineering, computing and beyond.

AQA specification — experienced in action. And a bit of bonding time as well, of course!

LGBT+ History Month February 2026

February marks LGBT+ History Month in the UK – an annual celebration recognising the achievements, contributions and history of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) community.

This important month raises awareness of the community’s history, struggles and successes, while highlighting both significant historical milestones and contemporary issues in the ongoing journey towards equality.

At Enfield Grammar School, we are proud to support and promote equality, diversity and inclusion for all. This month, students will take part in a special assembly dedicated to reflecting on the importance of LGBT+ History Month and celebrating the positive impact of the LGBT+ community.

Our Football Teams Are On Fire!!!

Great news to end this half-term with;

Huge congratulations to the Year 10 football team for winning their Borough Cup Semi Final match against Latymer on Wednesday with a 3-2 win, sending them through to the finals!

This now means that EGS has 4 teams the Borough Cup Finals: Year 7, 8, 10 and 11!  

Year 9 will play their semi final match against Winchmore on the 26th February so wishing them all the best for then.

Happy and healthy half-term break to all our EGS community.

What Is the Ebacc? Understanding the lingo….

With it being the Year 9 GCSE Options season, it’s good to understand some of the lingo used…

The English Baccalaureate (EBacc) is a performance measure for schools in England, not a qualification, which highlights students who achieve a grade 5 or above in a core set of GCSE subjects: English, maths, science, a language, and history or geography.

Introduced in 2010, it aims to keep options open for young people by ensuring a broad, academic curriculum recognised by employers and universities.

 

Children’s Mental Health Week 2026: Belonging

To mark Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, we will be delivering a special assembly for Years 7 and 8 centred on this year’s theme of Belonging — exploring how we can develop our own sense of belonging and help others feel that they belong too.
 
The assembly will be followed by form-time activities and the creation of a ‘Belonging Pledge’ display. Every child deserves to feel accepted, welcomed, valued and comfortable in their environment.
