Christmas Carols in Enfield Town

A group of our brass, woodwind and other players will be performing Christmas Carols in Enfield Town tomorrow, 7th December from 2.30 – 4.00pm (outside Costa in Palace Gardens Exchange shopping centre). This has been an annual event for many years (until last year) and this year we are raising money for Love is Kind (a domestic violence charity) and Shelter. If you happen to be free during that time or in Enfield after school, it would be lovely if you could pop along and say hello.

All those who are taking part in playing Christmas Carols this afternoon in Enfield Town are to meet in the Main Hall at Upper School at 2pm. 

Any Year 7 and Year 8 coming from Lower School, please meet Mrs Penfold in the Music Office at 13.50pm to walk to Upper.

You will then all walk over to Enfield Town together with the music staff

I absolutely love this story because it is a story about the power of hope!
Lose yourself in a book where you will start an adventure in London and finish in Paris, meet feral youths called ‘Rooftoppers’ and fight  the ‘Gariers’.
The story is set around 1900, is whimsical, (the humour is wonderful) and poetic. Will eccentric Charles the scholar and Sophie be successful in finding her mother?

FEGS Support At The EGS Christmas Concert Tomorrow

Are you ready for the first music concert for over 18 months tomorrow?
It’s nearly time for the EGS Music Department’s Christmas Concert!  🧑‍🎤 🎼🎹🥁🎷🎺🎸🎻
 
We are, and we’re ready to set up our bar to help complement the exciting experience of watching our boys perform on stage!
 
Please bring cash along as it’s a cash only bar and we kindly ask that you wear a mask when coming up to the bar to order. 🌭🍫☕️🍺🍷🥂🍾
 
Remember, all the profit made at the bar goes straight back in to supporting our boys 💚💙
 
N.B. Please take a lateral flow test at home before coming out to the event if you can. Wear a mask to enter the hall until you’re seated. The hall will be well ventilated so please make sure you wrap up warmly.

What A Night!

What a fantastic Quiz Night we all had last Friday!
Fun and games with a great mix of parents and staff battling it out for top position.
It’s been a while since we’ve been able to hold a fundraising event like this so we are delighted to let you all know that the night raised a whopping £1500!!
A massive thank you to all those involved in organising and holding the evening including to our charming host Mr Lamb, Ryan for the fab raffle prizes, Drita (parent) who secured matched funding from her work and of course, to everyone who bought a ticket (just over 100 sold!) and came along on the night.

The Globe Players at EGS

The English department were thrilled to host ‘The Globe Players’ recently with their fantastic adaptations of Macbeth and An Inspector Calls.

The students excelled themselves with their engagement and their questions during the Q&A session after each performance: the students asked the best questions that the actors had ever heard from a school.
