Enfield Grammar School would like to congratulate all our GCSE students on some superb results this year.

We are delighted that a record number of students have secured grades 5 and above in both English and maths, a pivotal achievement in opening doors to future success.

We are incredibly proud of how hard our students have worked towards their outcomes, be it the strings of top grades achieved by many or the excellent progress which reflects huge personal success for others, particularly when achieved in the face of challenging personal circumstances.
So many of our students have truly embodied our school motto of “Tant Que Je Puis” (“As much as I can”).

We are pleased to have begun enrolling both our own students and, now in our second year of accepting female applicants, we are offering a warm welcome to students from other schools. We remain open to applications on a first-come-first served basis so please explore our website for details of our courses and how to apply.

Mr Lamb, Headteacher at Enfield Grammar School, commented:
“I am really delighted to see the hard work of our boys come to fruition. I have never before witnessed so many students arriving before 7.30am throughout the exam season to work together and with teachers to maximise their preparations for the exams, a true measure of their commitment and determination. I offer my heartfelt congratulations to the young men we have had the privilege to nurture these last five years.
As ever, we are incredibly proud to have witnessed their journeys from boy to the fine young men they have become and we look forward to witnessing their continued academic and personal successes whether with us or in pastures new.
We have really valued the partnership and support of the parents of our students and we thank our teachers and support staff for their ongoing commitment to the boys’ achievements.”

We are incredibly proud of the achievements of all our students including the 10 students who achieved average grades of A*-A and also those for whom lower grades represent a significant personal success. We continually strive to ensure each boy is able to give ‘As much as he can’ no matter what his starting point when he joins us; this mantra has served our students well. We wish all our students well as they strive forward in this ever-changing world and ask them to stay in touch to help those who follow them in the coming years.

We are pleased that our students have gained places at top universities and on higher apprenticeship schemes. All students have the option to enter their preferred route of career or further study. This ranges from University, to Apprenticeships, to scholarships and the ‘World of work’.

A fortnight of work experience for our Year 10s resulted in much valuable feedback; the boys gained a much clearer understanding of various job roles and careers, and what it is like to be in a working environment. Employers had the opportunity to mentor students and help teach them some valuable skills.

Over the course of the 2 weeks, our staff went out and about all over London to meet up with most of the students in their places of work to check how they were getting on and receive feedback from the employers.

Students returned from their ‘postings’ either knowing that the industry they had experienced was exactly the one they would like to work within in the future or realising it really was not for them, thus saving further education in the wrong area. They now have a slightly better understanding of the working world and their lives enriched just that little bit more.

The only photos we have are of those young men who stayed with us in school and took up opportunities to work within the Catering and Premises departments. They were all given high praise for their commitment and effort that they put into their jobs……and one photo of Nicholas who truly impressed Mrs McCall with the delicious sandwich he made for her in @tongue_and_brisket !
