A huge congratulations to Ed who scored his Maiden EGS century against Wren Academy recently!
A destructive 122 runs off just 9 overs caused havoc on the lower school grounds.
Ed is the first pupil in over 3 years to achieve this impressive record. Obviously one to look out for on the pitch!
Ben, recently named Clubman of the Year at Enfield Town FC, made a significant impact as a volunteer over the past six months. He managed the club’s social media, capturing and sharing content across various platforms which helped grow the club’s audience.
Gabriel Meytanis, Director of ETFC, says that Ben consistently dedicated 5–6 hours on matchdays and sometimes covered training sessions midweek as well as working closely with the first team. His skills in photography, editing, and graphic design have noticeably improved and he also showed strong initiative, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Having built strong relationships across the club, Ben has also inspired other volunteers. His contributions have been invaluable, and his continued involvement is highly encouraged.
His Volunteering with ETFC stemmed from him participating in the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Silver Award and has resulted in realising that he has additional talents to those he already has!
Well done, Ben!
We will be avidly watching the 2025 EFL Championship play off on Saturday; following our two alumni battling it out on the pitch at Wembley.
Sydie Peck playing for Sheffield United and Romaine Mundle playing for Sunderland will be facing each other in an effort to win the match that propels their team into the Premier League!

Congratulations to Year 10 boys, Hasan Biyan and Farouk Kodjoe (named best speaker), and thank you to Ms Senior for bringing this initiative into school. We look forward to meeting representatives from the Young Litigators Project next month when they visit us.
This is one of our new extra-curricular offerings where the students engage in debates, case analysis and mock trials which teaches them about the law and British values whilst honing their critical thinking and reasoning skills, building confidence in writing and public speaking, as well as learning how to work effectively as part of a team.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and in supporting MHAM, we have chosen, ‘The Teenage Guide To Stress’ by Nicola Morgan. Also, very apt as exam season has just started. This is a fantastic book which looks at the specific worries and fears of teenagers and suggests positive strategies for healthy minds and bodies.
It is available to borrow, along with other similar books, in the Upper School Library.
Congratulations to Ender in Year 11 who was one of the 20 young people appointed as a member of the Enfield Youth Council earlier this month; we wish him all the best in his new role!
Back in March, Year 7 students participated in the Write2Speak initiative and the impact was truly inspiring. The sessions provided a platform for students to explore their voices, express themselves with confidence, and engage in meaningful discussions—all guided by outstanding facilitators.
The expertise and enthusiasm of the facilitators were central to the programme’s success. Their ability to connect with students, encourage participation, and nurture creativity ensured that even the most reserved students felt empowered to share their thoughts.
The emotional impact of the initiative was clear. Students not only developed their writing and speaking skills but also grew in confidence. Many took pride in their work, stepping outside their comfort zones to express themselves in ways they hadn’t before. The energy in the room was electric as ideas took shape and came to life.
Write2Speak has left a lasting impression, equipping students with valuable skills that extend beyond the classroom. It was an enriching, transformative experience—one that will continue to resonate with them in the future.
