Two upcoming FEGS events!
Tomorrow we have the pre-loved uniform sale so you can pick up a bargain and then the fun family bingo on Friday 4 July. Both events are being held at the upper school.
These events help to raise extra funds for the school that directly impact our students so please do support FEGS events when you can.

The family are saddened to announce the death of Mr Peter Gross MBE. He was a much loved family member, friend, colleague, teacher and mentor.

All are invited to his funeral service of thanks giving at 12 noon on Friday 4th July 2025 at Enfield Town Community Church (Cecil Road, Enfield). Peter left instructions to us that the service should be "as joyous and celebratory as possible"!

Instead of flowers, please could we ask people to consider making a donation to the Enfield Grammar School Foundation? EGS was a huge part of Peter`s life - both as a student and then as a teacher for many years. We cannot think of a better way to pay tribute to him than to support the School`s Foundation.

The Enfield Grammar School Foundation (Charity No. 312627; see further Charity Commission - Enfield Grammar School) owns the land and buildings from which the school operates. It has funds which are invested to provide an income which is used:

- For the maintenance of those at School or for those going on to higher education
- To enable travel in this country or abroad
- For the study of music or other arts and sciences
- To promote education for pupils and former pupils

With love and thanks
Peter`s family

June is Gypsy, Roma And Traveller History Month and we have chosen, `The Pearl Thief` by Elizabeth Wein as our #bookofthemonth .

Julie Beaufort-Stuart is a teenager who has returned from boarding school to spend one last summer on her grandfather’s Scottish estate. The old man has died and the estate is being sold to cover his debts. But there is more to this..... A man is missing, presumed murdered and the blame is falling on the McEwens, a family of Travellers, whom Julie has known for as long as she can remember. Set in 1938, the story is one of grudges, secrets, strangers, prejudice and class division, as well as a coming-of-age story and mystery.
(Suggested reading for Year 10+)
