Here are the next FEGS events taking us up to the end of the year…
We will be avidly watching the 2025 EFL Championship play off on Saturday; following our two alumni battling it out on the pitch at Wembley.
Sydie Peck playing for Sheffield United and Romaine Mundle playing for Sunderland will be facing each other in an effort to win the match that propels their team into the Premier League!
Good luck to both of them!
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and in supporting MHAM, we have chosen, ‘The Teenage Guide To Stress’ by Nicola Morgan. Also, very apt as exam season has just started. This is a fantastic book which looks at the specific worries and fears of teenagers and suggests positive strategies for healthy minds and bodies.
It is available to borrow, along with other similar books, in the Upper School Library.
Congratulations to Ender in Year 11 who was one of the 20 young people appointed as a member of the Enfield Youth Council earlier this month; we wish him all the best in his new role!
This sounds like an amazing opportunity and a fantastic worthwhile hobby or potential career option…..

After a wonderfully informative and interesting assembly led by Mr Turner (the presentation was then left playing throughout the lunchtime), and a 2 minute silence, our catering team, led by Mrs Jarvis, put on a wonderful ‘wartime spread’ with their usual enthusiasm to celebrate any important occasion. Kamsi, who is volunteering in the kitchen for his DofE award also got into the spirit and joined the team in their 1940s head scarves – what a great sport!
A few lucky students from our school had the incredible opportunity to visit Baller League UK at the Copper Box Arena—a well-earned reward for their outstanding attitude to learning this past term.
Baller League UK offers a unique fusion of football and technology, bringing fans closer to the action with interactive activities through QR codes. Our students were amazed by the fast-paced matches and the innovative twists that keep the league exciting.
With football legends like Ian Wright and John Terry managing the teams, the competition was intense. One of the standout moments was experiencing the Game Changer, a thrilling feature that can completely shift the outcome of a match in the final three minutes!
This trip not only gave our students a great view for the new era of football but also sparked curiosity about the technology behind it. Who knows? In the future, we might see some of our own students on the pitch or working behind the scenes on the cutting-edge tech that makes this league so special.
Want to see the action for yourself? Catch the next matches live on Twitch every Monday up until June

“Since my time at Oxford University, I’ve prioritised solving real-world challenges through technology, currently leading Impact at Plinth where our mission is to drive AI and technology adoption across the not-for-profit sector to build capacity and unleash the potential of community organisations across the world.
Prior to this I spent two years driving our mission from pre-seed to seed stage, creating solutions to accelerate the UK’s journey to Net Zero.
Alongside this, I’ve founded a successful political consultancy, was involved in launching London’s first third-space for aspiring founders, and built a strong online personal presence through my online video content, engaging 30,000+ followers and reaching 20M+ views”
