As the academic year flies by, we are met with financial challenges that impact our ability to provide many of the additional enrichment experiences that have always been a vital part of our student’s education. Activities such as school trips, cultural capital days, school clubs and inspiring science events, are no longer as feasible as they once were.

These experiences are not mere luxuries; they are an essential part of our students` education, fostering growth, inspiration, and a well-rounded learning environment. For many of our boys, particularly our boys who may not have access to these opportunities outside of school, these activities offer exposure to new ideas, perspectives, and skills.

To ensure that we can continue offering these enriching opportunities, we are seeking your help. Your generosity will have a direct impact on the education of both our current and future students, allowing them to benefit from the full spectrum of experiences that help inspire, motivate, and develop well-rounded individuals.

A week ago, Lower School held a False Moustache Day as a nod to Men`s Health Month and Movember. We are delighted that 489 false moustaches were purchased by our years 7 and 8 which made just over £106. Donations are going to the Movember Charity.

The Write 2 Speak programme, sponsored by Nexus Enfield , offered an inspiring experience for Year 9 students, exploring the art of spoken word with a focus on Black History Month. Over three engaging workshops, students honed their skills, leading up to a remarkable live performance at the @dugdaleartscentre on November 15th.

Congratulations to all participants, especially Aaron, Ellis, George, Lamar, Micah, Otis, Samir, Shane, and Henry, for their outstanding contributions.
Micah’s performance was a standout, earning a feature in a promotional montage by Write 2 Speak.
Henry’s poignant piece on men’s mental health was particularly fitting for Movember, aligning with Men`s Health Month. Well done to all!

The workshops creatively celebrated Black history and culture through spoken word, providing students with an engaging and meaningful exploration during Black History Month. Participants delved into historical narratives, cultural themes, and personal experiences, expressing their insights through poetry and prose. Each session built on the last, blending historical education with artistic expression in a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.

Students displayed remarkable enthusiasm, participating in discussions, writing exercises, and performances. The workshops fostered a strong sense of community, respect, and confidence, enabling students to explore sensitive topics with empathy and pride.

The programme concluded with a live performance at the Dugdale Arts Centre on November 15th. Students delivered powerful and moving spoken word pieces, captivating the audience of parents, teachers, and peers. The event celebrated their creativity, hard work, and the vibrant cultural heritage they explored, leaving the audience inspired and deeply moved.
