This week, a shout-out goes to Edward Bareham, known to his friends as ‘Ed’!
As part of his Middlesex Training, he has to complete the YLIC (Young Leaders in Cricket) programme and for this, Ed arranged a charity cricket match with 33 players to fundraise for 3 charities. It turned out to be an amazing day, and a great end the cricket season.
The day raised over £1500 for charity (smashing his target of £60) as well as:
- Collected donations to allow 33 children to play
- Organised the design & printing of the team t-shirts
- Funded reusable, environmentally friendly drinks cups as a momento for the players and the cricket club
- Organised a BBQ to be run at the event
- Set up a website, Go Fund Me page and an Instagram account
- Posted the results online via Play-Cricket
All in all, Ed’s organising skills, determination and hard work resulted in a profitable and very fun day, so much so, that he wants to do it again next year but even bigger and better!
What an enormous achievement, Ed! You deserve to be very proud of yourself and we really hope you continue to create more inspiring, fun and supportive events.
Congratulations Ed!
PS… if you’re not sure what you want to do as a career just yet….event management is a fast-paced, creative and fun industry to work in!
