Key Stage 3

In Year 7, 8 and 9 every student has two 1 hour lessons per week spread over the two-week timetable. Topics covered throughout the 3 years consist of:

  • Volleyball

End of topic Inter House Activities for all 180 Pupils per year, including Leaders and Officiating, take place in:

  • Badminton
  • Cricket
  • Athletics

Key Stage 4

In Year 10 and 11 every student has two 1 hour lessons per week. Topics covered throughout the year are;

  • Leading and officiating
  • Games for understanding
  • Fitness
  • Tactics for net games

Key Stage 5

In Year 12 and 13 there is the opportunity to represent the school in our Senior Sports Teams;

 

  • Rugby
  • Football
  • Athletics
  • Cross-Country

Examination PE

In addition to ‘core’ PE lessons, in Year 10 and 11 if students selected either GCSE PE or the Vocational Option (GCSE PE & a selection of accredited leadership/coaching qualifications), they will receive an additional five 1 hour lessons per week to study their course.

In Years 12 and 13, students who study either A level PE or Btec level 3: Sport, will have five x 1 hour lessons per week to study their course.

The Community Sports Leaders Award: Leadership Level 2 Award is available for Key Stage 5 students as an extra qualification.
